Susan prince Havens

I have been designing and creating jewelry since 1981. I grew up in Kilmarnock, Virginia, in a small community near the Chesapeake Bay. I studied Geology at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and decided to make a career in jewelry design. My first job was in Williamsburg at a jewelry store which sold and created one-of-a-kind jewelry made by the goldsmiths. I worked as a stone-buyer, bead-stringer and jewelry designer.

I moved to Albion in 1985, and completed my Graduate Gemologist Degree from the Gemological Insititute of America in 1987. That year, I started my own business, prince Havens Designs. My jewelry reflects my love of nature, especially the nature I remember from growing up on the Chesapeake Bay and Rappahannock River. I work with a varity of unique and beautiful stones and metals and attempt to incorporate patterns found in nature in my designs.

I hope that you enjoy wearing my work. I am always pleased to see someone wearing my pieces and I also appreciate people telling me how they identify with my work, so please feel free to email me and give me your comments and suggestions.
